We found the Fat Duck a little dissapointing. First off, the tables and chairs look cafeteria style and don't really create the cozy pub atmosphere we anticipated. Our server was friendly and fairly prompt, but the food was dissapointing. Our mushrooms and stilton was small and we were charged the wrong amount for it on the final bill. The fish and chips were supposed to be served with mushy peas and sweet potato chips but was instead served with plain potato chips and no peas. No substitution was offered, the plate was just brought out lacking all items. The chicken was bland and uninspiring. Generally, we thought the menu was incredibly small and not very exciting. When there are so few options we felt that the dishes should be better presented and more original.
We had terrible service. First off the service was extremely slow. Secondly, our waitress rarely checked on our table and when she did come to our table she rarely asked anyone if she could get them more drinks or anything else. Thirdly, our waitress did not appear knowledgable about the menu. When asked about ingredients or side orders she consistently did not know the answer. I was particularly disappointed with the service as my meal did not arrive until after everyone has already eaten their meals. When my meal originally arrived it was not made as requested. I asked that the gravy not be included on my meal due to allergies. When my meal arrived covered in gravy, it was sent back to the kitchen. My 'new' meal did not arrive until after my friends' bellies were all full. I sat in the restaurant from 6 pm until 8:30 pm without anything to eat. The waitress offered me more bread, but that hardly appears appropriate. Guelph, save your money and your time and don't bother trying the Fat Duck. There are other great pubs in the area.
Not satisfied whatsoever. The service was incredibly bad and slow. We waited from 4:30 until 6:10 to be served. The beef burger was cold and the fat duck fries were skimpy (I got a total of 6). The chicken was definately not worth the wait or the money. I told the waitress that we were completely unsatisfied and I would like my bill. She took away the plates and returned asking if she could offer us a dessert on the house and by this time my boyfriend had already went to the car and I said no. The manager did not come out to try and make things better or ask if there was anything they could do or anything. I will never return and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
10/10. Clean. Speedy service. Nice servers. Attractive women. What more do we want?
Slow service, over salted food, I understand the duck is cured but way too much seasoning. Don't worry , I'm going to drink regardless of how much salt you use. Pricey!
