Fred from George’s Appliance Repair of Cobden has proven customer service is not dead! I had a morning appointment to have my dryer looked at, wait and waited no show. I was getting a liitle heated, call his shop at 3 50 pm Fred picked up. After a short discussion Fred realized he had made a mistake with the appointment, he drove to Petawawa from Cobden and had my dryer up and running before 5 pm!! Give me a little break on the cost of the repair, Fred Thanks a bunch!!
Seriously if you get referred to him for warrenty reasons demand some one else he will show up say hes fixed it and when you call him back he says he will come and never does and then never answers. we have had a washer severly leaking water since before christmas. this place is not worth your time... I am reporting him to warrenty service this is ridiculous!!!
Got a quote to fix an appliance. Was charged for a service call. Got a quote to fix part. $30
I looked up the part number when he left. He was right - they sold for $30-$40 new at part stores. $10-$20 online on auction sites.
When he came back he charged $125 for the part.
Ended up paying more than double what was originally quoted to fix the appliance.
Really busy guy (since there are very few people in the area doing this anymore) ... so you may have to wait for service. Usually does a quick assessment to see if he CAN help you quickly. Patient. Explains situation well. Respectful of our home. We always use him.
