Walked in today very busy. was served great food probably the best a&w ive had in a while. Staff was great but i was served by a great guy couldnt quite catch his name it was somewhere along the lines of mudrada or something. looked like they were under staff but he was great always smiling working hard. great to see youth hard working. will be eating there again soon. never written a review before but i knew this place deserved a review especially with its awesome staff members. Hate the wait but love the food. If you come at 10pm on a Saturday still a 10 minutes wait. I have been here a couple of times before and always excellent. The meatballs in tomato sauce just amazing. We had the zucchini and rabbit pasta dishes and both so good. Cooked just al dente, good amount of flavour and just enough coating of sauce. Very good selection of by glass or bottle wines. You have to remember when going here that this is a wine tasting room, not a place to have dinner. The wine list is imaginative and approachable. The service on a good night is excellent, on a bad night is so-so, but the staff have always been very helpful with the wine choices, pairings, and flight recommendations. We hit Black Forg last night before the Lions game and loved their vibe. The atrium that provides over half of the seating is ideally situated at the foot of Cambie Street to provide views of the North Shore and the workd going by on Water Street. They offer a great selection of draught and bottled beer and offered a take on a Snake Bite that they should put on the menu and call the Black Frog...who knew that adding Ribena would taste so good! The wings that were hotter than hot were exactly as advertised and really tasty! The only concerns we had were with the mains we had. The steak sandwich was a bit tough to chew as a sandwich but went better when I ate it open faced. The curry and chips were kind of bland and would probably be better as an Indian curry than a Thai curry. We will try other items on our next visit. Our concerns on the food aside, we will be back because it was such a great little spot. Head over to the Black Frog next time you're looking for a fun spot to chill! Read more
