Best dog sledding tours around Ottawa! I went for a tour and loved it so much I started working there. The dogs are well cared for and well socialized. The tours are offered all year long so the dogs get to run in the summer as well as the winter. They love it. The owner has had sled dogs for over 40 years and is a really nice guy. It's a great activity to do as a family and the price is reasonable!Read more

Let me start by saying the correct name for this place is Fortune's Madawaska Valley Inn.
They have an all day menu that includes items like pulled pork sandwiches, fish & chips, etc. Then at dinner time they add a blackboard menu for more dinner type items. When we were there, there was pickeral, chicken, braised beef short ribs, schnitzel, pasta and a few other things. Our group of four split an order of onion rings as an appetizer -- hot and nicely battered. 3 of us ordered schnitzel and 1 ordered the braised beef ribs. Everything was very, very good. Servings of the schnitzel were large. I asked for cranberries to go with my schnitzel but they didn't have any.
Our waitress was a bit forgetful. We had to ask twice about the cranberries before she remembered to check with the kitchen. We had to ask twice for milk for tea.
2 had butter tarts for dessert. They were small and hubby said not worth ordering again. I had the maple cinnamon roll which was partially warmed (not sure they did that). Had it been warmed fully, it would have been excellent.
One thing that I really didn't care for was that all the cutlery was in a container in the middle of the table. I don't think this is very sanitary.Read more
