The absolute best day of my life! Decor was fabulous, food was hot and tasty, service was nothing like I had ever seen in my life. All of this with great value really does make it a dream come true. If you want a beautiful, stress-free wedding day and for your guests to thoroughly enjoy themselves, all for great value....than this hall is for you!
Extremely disappointed with the Grand Olympia. On my wedding day I was ignored by staff until finally I introduced myself to someone ( after 2 hrs of being there ). Our seating arrangements were all messed up, leaving one guest having no spot and not getting a meal. He stood at the bar for half the night. Bathrooms were REPULSIVE. Staff were unprofessional. I even sent my concerns to the manager and its been 2 weeks and no one has got back to me. I would not recommend this hall to anyone.
Absolutely Amazing!! Really impressed with everything, small minor details that weren't perfect but overall the most amazing venue ever. Our Wedding was fabulous and honestly couldn't be happier. I love to look back on my wedding day and recall how amazing they made it. How easy they made it and of course how delicious the food was still has my guests talking about it almost a year later. Thanks so much !!
The Grand Olympia created a wedding memory that cannot be duplicated. I know we were stressed about all the details, but our wedding coordinator helped keep us organized and on track. The facilities were amazing, such beautiful and classic décor. We had looked at other venues, but they seemed so tacky and the artwork was distracting. The classic colours, beautiful art, and the finish to The Grand Olympia set it apart from everyone else. My guests all commented on how they found it to be such a beautiful and classy place to hold a wedding. The service and food was amazing. From presentation to taste, it was exquisite. I can honestly say that the day was complete because of the team at The Grand Olympia. They were there every step of the way, our coordinator made sure we were well informed and was there to help make the evening go seamless. I cannot thank The Grand Olympia enough, thank-you for making our special day even more special.
We had our reception here in June 2012 and we would not recommend it. Our coordinator was exceedingly difficult to get in touch with. I would leave both email and voicemail as well as messages with the front reception all within a week and never hear back. Once when I got her on the phone and asked if she received my messages, she said "I don't think I got those, weird...". At the reception, things that we'd confirmed both in writing/in person were missing. We'd upgraded to a head table backdrop - not there; one of our tables was missing chair covers; our photo booth was not assembled. Our slide show equipment was not set up in advance; it was later set up/checked in front of our guests. Dinner was the biggest let down. The pasta was dry and tasteless. Although I confirmed the vegetarian entrees over several emails, both were incorrect. Dairy-free guests were served vegetables in stead of chicken for their second course, I presume because the chicken was made with cream sauce. Could they not have been served chicken without a cream sauce? Finally, after what felt like an hour lapsed between the entrees and dessert, we were told it was because some of our guests were in the washroom. After we filled out comment cards provided at dinner, one of the staff interrupted us on the dance floor to discuss. Annoying! We just wanted to forget about problems and enjoy. We provided favours and initially about 50 of them were put out (the rest were under the table, to top up the basket as it emptied). Apparently they were never replenished so the majority of our guests did not get favours. Our cake serving set was never returned to us. When we discussed our issues with management, they didn't seem to care. They offered us tickets to their New Year's Eve Gala (no thanks!). If I were to go back and re-plan our wedding, I would do everything the same EXCEPT for choosing the GO.
