Deborah L. Renwick founded Ellington Montessori School in July 1990. The school began as a corporation and continues as such to date. Ms. Renwick opened the school with the intent of operating a Primary program (3 to 6 year olds), accommodating 20 students. By the end of the first year enrolment was up to 32 children and expansion was on the horizon. By the fall of 1992, the first elementary class was opened and the school eventually expanded, over several years, to include classes up to the 8th grade. The principle seems to be a wonderful teacher and is very focused on the kids learning. The only problem is she seems to be a micro manager over the teachers and its her way or the door, which seems to have happened over the years. We are going to try the public system next year because at $1400 per month and then extra charges for programs, so we are not convinced its worth it for us. Depends of how much extra money you have in your budget. If she was the teacher we would be back in a heartbeat
