For as long as Christopher Keating can remember, his father has been a photography buff. Chris grew up surrounded by cameras and lenses, prints and negatives. And he always knew what he would do with his life. “My Dad was a hobbyist photographer,” he says, folding his muscular, six-foot frame into a small chair in a corner of his viewing room at Towne Fine Portraits in McKenzie Towne. “And I knew even before I owned a camera that I wanted to be a photographer. I wanted to create really great images for people.”
Chris still owns the first camera he ever bought, a Cannon EOS SLR. Purchasing it meant he could “borrow” all his dad’s accessories.
