With its unmarked separate door and 50-seat space, Model Milk’s secret bar is as close as it gets to a legit speakeasy. Cozy and ultra-stylish (there’s a turntable and a selection of vinyl hidden in the parlour), Model Citizen is for the discreet and discerning drinker – just like the cocktail list downstairs, the innovative rotating menu of concoctions is always on point.
In a building that was originally a creamery, Model Milk’s interior pays tribute to the room’s industrial roots with an exposed brick feature wall, some vintage touches and a cool multi-level design. The room is gorgeous, but the atmosphere is really heightened by the music – a turntable and vinyl collection on the mezzanine level provide a perfect soundtrack for fun dining.
Served in Model Milk PDR, the critically acclaimed contemporary Canadian restaurant’s private dining room, this gourmet meal is the invention of executive chef Eric Hendry. An Asian-inspired odyssey based on his time working in Hong Kong, it features hot and sour soup, steamed ginger-and-black-bean fish with mapo tofu and Sichuan-style beans, prawn wonton with stir-fried clams as well as custard dessert with Mandarin orange and red bean. Five courses, $65.
