Did not honor our reservation for a booth. Excuse was none were left she gave it away and we should have "asked" her. We talked to whoever answered the phone. Served diet coke that was flat. Brought water instead of replacement ginger ale. Brought wine instead of beer that we ordered. To top if off she lost the leftover food that we had asked to be packaged. No apologies. Doubt I will ever return.
Best meal I've had for a long time and this was reiterated by my German guests. The servers were particularly efficient and friendly especially Joanne who looked after our party with unobtrusive attention. We'll definitely be back!!
Place was very loud a specialy drunk people at the bar. We try to talk to owner and explain that we can not hear each other if he can please ask the croud at the bar to lover thir voices. Our impression is that he was more interested to keep dranks happy then retain us as a customers. To bad we whre ready to forgat that our meal was cold and solty.
Food was worm/cold,waitress was more interested in pary beside our table(3 young man) then us. The hostes had a plastic smile on her face. Not a place to go if you want to impress out of town guests.
This place has authentic German cuisine. If you do not understand or appreciate true German cuisine don't even bother coming. However if you understand and appreciate German cuisine this is the best place in the area for this wonderful food. Huge portions. Friendly service and afterwards you can goto the bakery nearyby and pickup some baked goods for the trip home!
Love the atmospher, great hosts, the food is excellent. It's like being in some town in bavaria. Everybody must try the bbq Pork Hox, with of course german beer. Ser gut!
Hospitable and warm, the food was delicious but the portion was average. Schnitzel was moist and frangrant. Potatoes good but very little of them. Ditto on the veggies. Coffee free pour and surprisingly good for a standard restaurant. Beer comes in mugs and at the right temperature. Ample parking, good place to meet with a group, and you cannot argue with the stunning waitress. That part gets my full YUM YUM!uarnat
The food quality was on part with something I'd get out of a cafateria, except it was served luke warm to room temperature (including the soup). The pork hox was huge, enough to serve 2 people. Unfortunately about 1/3 of it was fat. I'll admit the meat was tender in the center. I ordered the lamb roast which was the special for the evening. I asked for a medium-rare slice... I got extra well. The meat was dry. This would explain why the plate was just swimming in "out-of-the-box" gravy. Even the bread they served was dry! I mean the surface of the bread was dry, so I suspect the slices were sitting out on the counter all day. We didn't even want to stay for desert, we just wanted to leave. The server was pretty attentive and quick to serve at the beginning of our meal, towards the end though, she was difficult to find. I'm not sure why, we were one of two tables in the restaraunt on a Sunday evening.
I lived in Munich before so I missed german food very much after I came to Toronto a year ago. I've tried 2 german restaurants in Toronto so far. The food of Musket was excellent! Their Barbecued Pork Hox, which was crispy outside and tender inside, is a must-try. The taste was almost the same as that I'd eaten in Germany. However, the portion was quite large that it's better to share with another unless you have a "big stomach"! The servers there weren't very smart except one lady (i think she's the owner), who was very friendly.
