Those in search of Latin American street food in Vancouver need look no further than Main Street’s El Camino’s, where spicy tapas and other sharing plates are served in an eclectic, down-home setting that lends itself to late nights, laughs and long conversations.
Taking cues from Latin countries around the world (from Mexico to Brazil), this bustling restaurant serves tacos, empanadas and more to satisfy any craving (and spice-up any palate), while saving some room for dessert and cocktails. “We try to stay current with our menu items, adding twists on the classics,” explains general manager Dave Yates.
An Australian with a thirst for adventure, Dave has worked in bars and restaurants around the world. “I’ve done every position you could imagine in the industry,” explains the frequent flyer.
Looking to put down roots (if only temporarily), Dave finally landed at El Camino’s after more than a decade of globetrotting – and the rest is history. “I’m proud to manage a business owned by an amazing group,” he says. “My passion is still as strong today as it was when I first started in the industry at 15 years old,” he continues.

You’ll feel like you’re in a late-night kiosk in Barcelona or Buenos Aires as you sip citrusy pisco sours and nibble on spiced popcorn, nachos and guacamole, and bite-sized tacos.

In the second season of You Gotta Eat Here!, host John Catucci couldn't get enough of their prawn arepas, and you won't be able to either. Come for $5 tacos on Taco Tuesdays or $6 Cuba Libres on Revolution Wednesdays, and don't forget the churros for dessert.
