This Scottish pub has gluten-free entrees, such as herb-infused salmon with vanilla clam butter, crushed baby potatoes, vegetables and garlic aioli and Bothy buco – a beef, brown onion and tomato ragu with mashed potatoes and zucchini. They also serve appetizers, including lamb lollipops with pureed garden peas, mint and Parmesan and a beet salad with pecans and chevre coulis. The mixed tomato salad with fresh bocconcini and arugula is also a great option. Plus, they offer several gluten-free dessert options, including vanilla bean crème brulee and black forest panna cotta.
This Scottish wine and whisky pub, located on the south side of the city, may be known more for its whisky, but it does have a lovely wine list, with about 20 wines offered by the glass. Their wine cellar contains vinos from around the world, only available by the bottle, and they sell some of these at half-price on Wednesdays, which is a great opportunity to try some of their fancier selections.
Whisky connoisseurs rejoice! The Bothy offers more than 175 different kinds, which they claim to be the most in Edmonton. For novices, the staff are knowledgeable and willing to help you choose. Dim lighting and warm browns make for cozy decor. While you imbibe, why not share a cheese or charcuterie plate?
