This is a college bar and like most people if you want to have a few beers and great wings this is the place to go. We ordered their TEAM COMBO special which included 20 wings, 4 potato jackets, 6 mozzarella sticks and fries plus a pitcher of draft beer. Williams is essentially an expanded coffee house, that offers food which is edible, but not great. But, that is to be expected, as no one would go here expecting fine dining. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, service is quick and the place seems to be clean. Being right across from McMaster, it is often full of students, many who come to study, and staff doesn't seem to mind.
Williams does have a large variety of dessert offerings, from great cakes to fresh waffles and various icecream desserts. A great place for coffee and dessert!

The Bean Bar is a really good low key restaurant in the Westdale neighbourhood. They provide an extensive menu with a wide variety to choose from at a reasonable price.
The food is fantastic and comes in portions that are not overwhelming where you can't finish it - just perfect. I brought my parents here to see what it was like and it exceeded their expectations.
I had the ham and maple cranberry wrap and it was terrific. Definitely hit the spot.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxed and mellow which is nice to have conversation. It's a good place for lunch or an early supper.
The staff is super friendly so the service is great. If you're ever in Westdale, it's definitely worth checking out.

I enjoyed working at this location for several hours. No one harrassed me about using the table for so long and the food was tasty and healthy so I didn't feel like I'd overindulged. That is, until a young Williams representative approached me and gave me a free Belgian Waffle slathered in ice cream. I certainly couldn't eat the whole thing; but now I know a great idea for treating the kids the next time we're out!

On recommednation of a friend as well as restaurantica reviews we decided to try Speekezzies for a mid week meal. We were promplty (and pleasantly) seated is this family establishment. Alot of selection on the menu but what sparked our interest was the lamb chop special. We asked to substitue the mashed potatoes for homemade ricotta gnocchi - lovely and flavorful- upgrade charges applied. Service was fine - nothing omitted. wine portions were a little small for value but everything else made up for that. Decor could use an update to perhaps draw a differnt clientele as return customers. However, it was adequate for us and we will definately return.

I have been to Jack Astor's only a few times, and both times the service was great! The atmosphere was also great, very fun, and exciting. You get crayons to colour on the tables and there are funny quotes around the restaurant. My only problem is that when I ordered my food which was a very simple order, it was wrong. My caesar salad had carrots in it and no croutons! Although the food is great and mistakes are made, it is just inconvenient. Aside from the mistakes, it is a great place to go to just hang out with friends, and have a drink or 2. The servers and waitresses are very kind, and they are always on top of everything. The restaurant is also never a mess, I never seen anything even left on the tables when another customer leaves, they are on top of it all right away which is really good.

My husband and I have been to Boo's twice. On both occassions we had a wonderful time and meal (as well as wine).
The server was extremely gracious and considerate. He came to check on our meal a couple of times, but was not intrusive whatsoever (allowing for an intimate and romantic evening).
The food was delicious. The servings were of good size (in our opinion) -- I was very full when I left, as was my husband. We had crab cakes for an appetizer - these were rich in real crab meat with little filler. As for mains, I had a salmon dish (the special) and my husband had Boo's signature dish (a steak). Ingredients were fresh, and there was a nice serving of vegetables (also flavourful and well done).
It is a quiet atmosphere and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We will definitely go back.

The owners Marco and Angelo are class acts and always take the time to personally welcome regular customers back.
Its kinda like Cheers because they always know your name and they are always glad you came.

The order bar is at the front door. Lots of warm colours with smiling faces that are always patient and help full. For those that can't make up their minds your not hurried or rushed to make purchases. There are exceptions of course. The atmosphere is roomy, with enough space between tables for privacy.
If your order is not ready at purchase point then the staff will bring it to you with out the feeling that you need to tip again if you did. Great seating with leather couches. Chairs and tables are far enough apart to have reasonably private conversation. The patio is overlooking the Bay. Hope that you like birds. Parking is walking distance or one minute from entrance. I liked that you are left alone, you don't have to be on your game, you can be friendly or not, depending on the person.

My sister and I wanted to take my parents somewhere nice for breakfast and decided on Casey''s. Our server was *****. I have had her before and she is great alway friendly and accomadating. My parents loved her. We informed ****** it was my parent''s anniversary and she came out with a piece of cake and a nice song. We told her some of the brunch items were cold and she immediately replaced them for us. She went the extra mile and made my parents anniversary special. Wonderful restaurant and drinking establishment. I usually go there with my boyfriend but sometimes, late at night, when he is asleep, you can find me at Jax because that is where good friends meet. And I've met so many good friends like MJ and have recently got my hair extensions done by this beautiful woman who had carried around roses that entire evening. I went there once with my friend Claire, who was, at the time, struggling with her weight and needed assistance to get to the karaoke bar to sing 'Stand By Your Man' and no one mocked her obesity. The food there is great and it is full of great real people. I cannot highly recommended this place enough and when you come out on a Saturday night after making an easy 25 bucks, I'll have a place reserved for you at my table. Jax where everybody knows your disability.
