Decided to have dinner with my mom, sistet and 16months old neice as my mom was celebrating her birthday. Server had a poor attitude, was not pleasant nor engaging. All she did was take orders and not even efficiently; she did not even apologise about bring us the wronf order, she never came back to check in as the other servers did with their guests. I must say the food was great, but what sets this venue apart from others, is quality of customer service we were provided with. The Manager himself made his way to our table and ensured we were happy with our orders, which we were. My clients who were from the States were happy and we also got a deal done. Love this place! My husband and I were looking for good fish and chips and we were quite satisfied. I dont really care what the place looks like on the inside as long as it is clean. They have a sign saying the health department has been there and checked the place out and they passed so thats alright in my books. I think some people are a little dramatic on here. I thought the portion size was perfect, So did my husband who is a large eater. How much food does one person really need? it is a bit pricey but it's worth it for a treat once in a while! Read more

I had a hankering for a fish and chips lunch one weekday and decided to search my GPS's "points of interest" for something local. English Bay came up as the closest place and I sure am glad it did. It's a small cozy feeling restaurant, probably about 12-16 seats, not too busy (11:30am). The service was attentive, and the Haddock fish and chips?... the best I've had to date. Oh yeah, the gravy was unique and also tasted great! I thought the meal was a little pricey but being small and in a plaza, I know that rents can be pretty steep, I guess that kind of justifies it. A wide variety of fish types and cooking preferences. I have eaten both deep fried battered fish (haddock) or if you prefer grilled cooking (trout) is also available. My daughter and I went for lunch. Our family and friends have been going since they first opened. Food and service is always great!! We enjoy trying something new they have on tap and have yet to be disappointed. Today they were full due to a local hockey tournament. Our lunch was missing a few items and took a little longer than usual, but we received fresh meals quickly. What impressed us the most was how the staff and manager handled the situation. Went here recently for a friday night out. Everything was perfect from the minute we walked in , until the minute we left. Our waitress, Maria , was outstanding. It was nice to walk in to a restaurant and be welcomed like family. We always enjoy the warm buns, it gives us something to munch on while waiting for our meal. We ordered the haddock and chips. The meal came out quick and piping hot. It was the best fish and chips we have had in recent memory. To top it off the apple crumble was exceptional. It was a foggy Friday 'nite & RIGHT after seeing the first 02 reviews, I ventured out w' my dog. Luckily it was not packed. I met 02 regulars & they said the place is usually packed on Fridays--maybe the fog is keeping them away. Can you believe this guy has been here for over 30 years & I thought I had tried each and every fish and chip place in Mississauga. One previous review commented on the excellent batter and I thought, no way, batter always has an after taste....nope....no after taste.
