I am Japanese and I like this restaurant! I have ordered Sushi only. I haven't tried other menus yet.
Sushi is good quality and service is good. I pay around 10 dollars for sushi. (5 pieces of sushi and 8 pieces of maki rolls) It's very very affordable.
If other people complain that it's not the best quality, this is not the place to go. You can't get the best quality for 10 bucks. Please go to restaurant owned by Japanese.
However, if you're looking for affordable, decent quality sushi, I highly recommend Bento Box.
I've been to 4 other Japanese restaurants in Burlington but I only go to Bento Box now.

Faced with an 8 page menu, exhaustive in its range of enticing descriptions of Japanese and Korean food, I opted to sample the former side by having soup, salad and appetizers (3 as it turned out). I love miso soup and have had incarnations of it in many places in Canada and abroad but this broth was simply fabulous in the depth and complexity of what is often a flat, watery introduction to a meal. The poky salad (fresh tuna, julienned seaweed, etc.) was vibrant, flavourful and spicy as advertised.
I started my appetizer foray with mandu yaki (small homemade dumplings with a combo of 8 different ingredients) and tako yaki (fried minced octopus balls with a unagi and katsu sauce on the side). Can you say FABULOUS?. Having washed it all down with warm sake, I rested for a while and then tackled a tempura dish: soft shelled crab (4 pieces) with a ponzu sauce. Cheer again.
Service was attentive and friendly and relaxed especially when the young lady and John, the son of the owner realized that I wasn't in a hurry. (I was honoured with a tempura zucchini sample from the owner's garden (in the back he said when I mentioned that he had tomatoes growing in the front). This is simply wonderful food, presented with smiles and pride by people who love doing what they do.
I can't wait to return and try some deeply Korean dishes of which there is an abundance on that wide-ranging menu.

I had my reservations about dining here as it's been at least 2 years since I've been to this Momiji location. However, my usual sushi places were closed on Labour Day, they had Lunch Specials goin' on, so why not?
I ordered Sushi Bento (4 nigiri, 6 spicy salmon, 4 tempura) which was $10.50. My bf had Sushi Combo (6 cali, 7 nigiri), $11.50. And we added the Alaska Roll - $7.95 - we didn't think that we'd have enough food.
Both Lunch Specials were AMAZING value, including miso soup + salad. So we didn't need the Alaska Roll. Fish was pretty fresh, no pieces fell apart, detailed presentation, good service - having our tea refilled without asking!
I have never been here for Dinner, but Lunch Specials are until 3:30pm and GREAT VALUE. So if you're in the Clarkson area, check this place out!

Fantastic food, great service. Our waitress was perfect. We took a while to decide, and she gave us space and more than enough time, yet she was right there when we were ready. We also got lots of extra appetizers. Just revisited on a Friday. Luckily, I found parking in their tiny lot, about 20 spots, that it shares with Swiss Chalet. And I'm sure that non-patrons park there too!
Positive: The atmosphere is quite nice, dimly lit, tealights at tables. Service is also pleasant. I accidentally tipped over my tea and it was addressed immediately.
Not-so-positive: I would say that sushi is *just* okay. When maki rolls arrived, from a distance, it just literally looked like a plate of white rice. Presentation was definitely their weak point.
Pieces were not only cut unevenly, but they also fell apart as I picked them up with my chopsticks. Rolls were not rolled tight enough. Instead they were quite large and loose.
I'd expect this from a lower priced sushi joint, but not at these prices!

I live near Queen and Spadina and have had some difficulty with finding decent low-medium priced sushi. Toshi is across from where I take spin class and I noticed that the sign indicated that the chef was Japanese so I decided to try it out. I found the fish to be fresh, the restaurant to be clean and the service to be attentive. They service appropriately sized rolls and nigiri, as opposed to the giant pieces that many other establishments serve (this is a good think IMO). Overall, very good meal and I think I will be frequenting Toshi a great deal.

The restaurant itself is clean and nice, the food is good and the service is quick. We both ordered Tempura Udon. The food was no doubt one of the best in Toronto with regards to quality and quantity. Server was okay and service was good. However the other guy behind the counter was snobbish. My friend called for the bill and signalled the guy. The guy just looked at my friend for a few seconds not showing any acknowledgement or emotion which made us think this was something. He just moved away from the counter and continued doing what he was doing. Our server came with the bill shortly and I asked if her colleague understood my friend. We then realized that the guy did understand my friend's request for the bill but he did not show a bit of reaction or acknowledgement. I consider that disrespectful. A little thing. We sat on the long sofa. It was comfortable but due to the depth of the sofa it was hard to sit down and get up considering it took so much space under the table.

Never buy any of that. The staff are not polite, but they aren't rude either. I don't mind that, and they are fast. This is a good place for some cheap sushi.
