One of my family's perennial haunts. We stumbled upon it while looking for a meal the night before a vacation, and now it is one of our favourite restaurants. Our usual order consists of 2 tofu satays with roti, one tofu mee goreng, and one hakka chow mein, but we also love Thai curry. Theirs (red and green) are both excellent. The only troubling bit is the music in the background. When it isn't reimagined version of pop songs (a bit repetitive), it's CHFI, the local adult contemporary radio station (complete with advertisements; a joy at Christmas). To sum up: Grossly undervisited, deserves more people through the door and cash through the register. Read more

Tucked in the basement of the St. Lawrence Market, Yanni's has become a new family tradition. The Greek breakfast has a lovely omellette, nicely garnished with an orange slice. Golden brown toast and hash browns make it heavy on the carbs, but hey, it's Saturday. The Greek baked potato is filled with feta cheese and tzatziki, a wonderful alternative to French fries. The lamb shank dinner is my daughter's favourite breakfast. Served up with rice and a fresh Greek salad, it is a strange but healthy breakfast. The service is fast and friendly. I've been to various Sushi places in the GTA area, and i would say this is the best place in terms of sushi quality. The fish is really fresh and it is sliced in a very nice way. The entire presentation makes it very pleasant experience. It is definitely more expensive than some of the other sushi places in Toronto. The hunan beef and the general tao, could have tatsed more authentic , however both were really good despite not being what I have become acustomed to in other chinese restaurants. Everything else was super especially the Pad Thai (which we ordered with tofu an option not on the menu) and they were happy to do this for us. Not always an easy task (substitution) when it comes to chinese food. They were really generous with the portions everything was busting at the seams, and really friendly thats important too.
