st veronus still has wonderful tasty food. I especially love the stoemp. BUT they no longer have a lunch menu- which means having lunch here is now much more expensive than it used to be (ie. the stew used to be $11 for lunch, now its $18 off the generic menu). because of this- I likely will only come here for dinner now as Peterborough has lots of other reasonably priced lunch options. The roti here is spectacular. They have goat, beef, chicken, veggie, etc.. Just enough heat in the curry, great potatoes, huge portions. So much flavor. It is the best roti I've had, period. The jerk chicken dinner is also very good. That being said, I have heard some horror stories about the cleanliness of this place. I love that the owner has decorated the place to make it seem like a cultural oasis in an extremely white city, but it just NEEDS TO BE CLEANER. I don't want it yuppiefied. So, stick to food that has high turnover, like the roti. The uniqueness and quality of the take out at a place like this is something that I would actually miss if I moved away from peterborough. That is saying something. The food is the only reason it is worth risking eating at a place that looks like it could not pass a health inspection. Read more

After reading the reviews online about this restaurant I was apprehensive about going to a staff Xmas get-together involving 16 people. I don't know what other reviewers are talking about. The servers had excellent manners and the food was good (for the price) and was served in a timely manner. I didn't hear any complaints from anyone at our table. We were lucky to have a restaurant accomodate such a large group. The owner made a point of acknowledging the person who had made our reservation. Nice people, good food. I would go back. Read more

This place actually has two names, Yee's and 'Al's Pizza'. I haven't really ordered any of the Chinese food before, but here's the secret - PIZZA ROLLS!!! They are like egg rolls but instead they're full of whatever pizza toppings you want. They ask you what you want in them and make them right there in front of you. They are to dieeee for I love them, and they are SO cheap only like $2.25. I've never come across anything like this at any other restaurant, so it keeps me coming back. Al is such a nice guy too, so friendly and always remembers my face. The sauce that comes with the chicken wings is amazing, its like sweet and sour sauce mixed with medium wing sauce or something, I don't know but I love it. Read more

This is my second visit to Splice's new S Burger addition. I first heard of it when I saw a Wagjag. Although I was hesitant at first, I figured that every joint is at least worth a try. I was expecting rather mediocre food given that the venue's primary face is a nightclub. I think this is the same reason why they are not getting the number of patrons they deserve. The food was surprisingly good. Excellent burger & fries served with a pleasantly garlicy aioli, and the organic wings with housemade sauces were quite good as well. The service is hit or miss depending on who you get (the dark haired girl was very attentive and accommodating).
