Our party of 6 sat out on the patio for our supper on a beautiful sunny day at the end of May. The service was good and for the most part the food was ok except for two out of our party who ordered the hamburgers. Its disappointing that they can't make the effort to make their own patties. Espcially considering our wait time. Its not like the food was served super fast. In fact, it took a while but we didn't mind as we weren't in a rush. Anyways, the burger patties are the kind of processed "precooked" patties that you can buy in the frozen food section at a grocery store. Rubbery and very off putting. A disappointment! I had the NY strip steak, not bad but I ordered rare and it wasn't rested when they served it. Not a big deal. We also had the calamari, zuccini sticks and patotoe skins for appetizers. All passable but nothing to write home about. I'd go back again for a drink and an appetizer but I probably wouldn't have a meal. I love the pub inside, very old school british pub feel. I think it would be cosy in the winter. The patio has a great view and is a nice place to go for a drink. Read more

I have to say that we've been coming to this place since it opened. We went to Cedar village because we couldn't get to Shawarma Chef, and it just re-enforced why we stopped going. It was not even busy and it was suppertime. We use to go to Cedar Village but, the garlic sauce is a mix of mayo and garlic, you want an extra tomato? pickle? onions on the shawarma? Its all extra costs. The owner, he makes you feel like he's doing you a favour serving you. Now, Shawarma Chef, the mom and dad come out and talk to you, the place is impeccably clean. You want a little extra, no worries, you want extra meat, they charge you a couple of bucks!
