The Greek restaurant Stepho's, which is just down the street, is much more popular than Taki's, but in my opinion Taki's is far superior. I know Stepho's is really cheap and they give you a ton of food but Taki's is by no means expensive and the quality of the food is much better. Take my advice and avoid the long lines at Stepho's for a seat at Taki's. Read more

She had correctly pointed me there, but accompanied me, apparently to check that her information was correct, and on the way I mentioned I was looking for a specialty product (Medjool dates). She left me before my inspection showed that the product was not on aisle 8 but then caught up with me at the friendly checkout with my desired product. Wow--upped Costco big time. Read more

Stong's is another example of what a grocery store should be. Mostly food, lots of quality produce and fresh bakery and butcher selection and great service. I gather at one time there were several of these stores in the Lower Mainland and this store is the last of their kind. Thank goodness. A great place to buy all kinds of staples and also some hard to find items that aren't carried at major chains.
