Here we are back at the beginning of the school year, with all the changes that it brings. Why not make the most of it and redecorate your young school kids’ rooms? Do they need more storage space, a bigger desk space, or a complete "makeover", as our southerly neighbors say? Here are a few shops and stores that could help you to successfully redecorate without completely stretching your budget.
Located on Boulevard Thimens in Ville Saint-Laurent, the Kido store is best known for its accessories for babies but never fear, they also have everything you need to literally transform a room for your young school kids. Visit the store to enjoy their "big kid's corner."
The place is not for every budget, either, but there are 'evolving' desks that will accompany your children as they gain in years... and size!
In its own words, the Zone store aims 'to share our love of things', and that's exactly what we found there. It has everything you could need to redecorate every room in the house ... but at the start of the school term, the focus is on the your schoolboy or schoolgirl's room. Take them to visit one of the shops (Plateau, Westmount, Côte-des-Neiges and Monkland) and help them to rethink their space for rest and work.
An absolute must - and a real test of patience if you go there with family on a Saturday afternoon - but what fun nonetheless! The rooms follow one after the other, you jot everything down on a piece of paper and hey presto, you go find everything and leave the parents to put everything together. The Ikea catalog is anticipated eagerly by everyone, every year, and we love to redo our entire interior decoration at the store. It's hard not to overspend the budget.
And no, Clément doesn't just sell clothing for babies and children. There is also a nice selection of furniture - including bookshelves and offices - for young schoolchildren. The chain has several shops in Montreal (downtown Rockland, Galeries d'Anjou) and the surrounding area.
