A hallmark of Indian cuisine is its reputation for being spicy, this is not to be confused with being hot, as some dishes may be spicy yet at the same time light on the palette. It is the different combination of a handful of spices that produce the most delectable dishes.
Tabla Village is an Indian restaurant whose name is directly associated with its location in the Village. It first opened its doors in 2004 and over the years, owner Syed M. Uddin has had various partners. Most recently, his partner is Mahmud Moyzul Islam.
Before 2004, Syed worked as a cook in different restaurants in Montreal. He also owned a few other small eateries, including one in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce which, in 1992, initiated a small revolution in the world of home-delivery meals. "At the time, you could have had just about any type of cuisine delivered: Chinese, Greek, etc. but not Indian," he says. "The challenge was to find the right containers. At first, it was difficult, but we managed to find them. After that, the other Indian restaurants followed and now, everyone is doing it. I'm glad to be at the origin of this," says Syed proudly.
Je retourne toujours à ce restaurant quand je veux manger une cuisine indienne raffinée dans un environnement agréable. Les sites web d'achats groupés offrent souvent des rabais, une belle occasion de découvrir ce restaurant.
