Tweet About Our Advocacy Since our founding, YWCA Canada has advocated to improve the lives of women and girls. For over a century, we have been integral to women's equality gains. Our advocacy has strengthened Canadian society and fostered women's leadership nationally and locally. Despite substantial change, women have not achieved full equality. The enormous strides made by some women, in some fields, have not been enough to right Canada's historical gender imbalance, nor to raise the status of all women.
