There is something flat out inspiring about seeing a 55-year-old man swinging adroitly on the equivalent of an adult “jungle gym.” “I just want people to move,” says Greg Carver, owner of the East York gym, StrengthBox. “How often do you see adults climb? Jump? The answer is never," he says. "I have designed a facility here that promotes movement, a big part of the recipe for youth. We teach adults how to learn to move again,” he explains.
Carver developed his winning approach to physical fitness by overcoming his own personal health issues. “I had tons of health-related challenges as an adult,” he said. “I was a 'skinny/fat' person, with chronic inflammation. I decided I could heal myself by developing a fitness program that incorporated movement with sound nutrition.” And so the journey began.
StrengthBox was created as a means for Carver to overcome his own physical limitations, attaining the body of a very muscular, well-toned, young-looking 55-year-old. Today, clients in their '30s through to their '50s — and even grandmothers — follow his success and methodology.
