Bulk Mine, at 655 Yonge Street, is a family-owned and operated business specializing in bulk candy, offering a huge variety of confectionery and grocery products. The Daryani family opened the incredibly colourful and cheerful store in 1998 just south of the Bloor subway station. The store is packed with enough confectionery and chocolate to raise blood sugar levels on entry, but it also stocks tea, a variety of bulk snacks, mixed nuts, dried fruit, spreads and crisps, with an emphasis on products from the United Kingdom.
What separates Bulk Mine from similar businesses? “We have a very extensive range of products. We like to overindulge our customers and we know that our prices are fair," says Mehrdad Daryani, manager and son of owner Ahmad. "Plus, people like the music we play. They come for the selection and stay for the jazz."
"We are a family business, too," he adds. "My family works together to make our store successful.”
Bulk Mine has been Toronto’s go-to bulk store since 1998. The store is fully stocked with U.K. imports, bulk candy, snacks, retro candies, and chocolates. You can also buy your treats online.
