Great food but it has never been ready on time for our pickup orders and the last time we got delivery it was 1.5 hours late.
I am 78 and I can honestly report that this was the worst restaurant meal I have ever had..the roasted lamb was shoulder chops and tougher than the soles of my shoe, the roasted potatoes were boiled and the quickly roasted, the rice was ok but tasteless. The appetizer Takanaki was the highlight..though the bar is low. This was a first and last!
The food is incredible every time!
The traditional foods served at Joe Feta's are quite good. I will mention that I did not particularly care for the lamb shanks and won't order them again. The more expensive roasted lamb is tasty, but there is a fair amount of fat too that you receive. The service is always good and while I think the restaurant prices are sliding up a bit, it is probably reflective of rising food costs. The Saganaki (flaming cheese dish) is very good here and reasonable. The restrooms in the original aspect of the restaurant need renovating with wood stalls etc. Insufficient parking can be an issue at this restaurant.
My boyfriend's parents came to visit us from out of town and we decided to take them to Joe Feta's.It was definately a good choice. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and the food! I shared the Bruchetta as an appetizer with everyone. It was definately big enough for the four of us to all share and get a good portion each. It was yummy. For my main I just had the Calamari and it was delicious! I love it! I get the Calamari from here everytime we go out to eat and everytime we get takeout! lol It's so good and I love the sauce that goes with it to dip, and they always give you lemon on the side, which I enjoy squeezing on. I can't remember what everyone else had to eat, but everyone enjoyed everything :) My family has been going to Joe Feta's for years, weather it be to dine out or get take out, it's always great.
I used to go there all the time until I had dried up chicken kabob, I noticed on the way out that everything was pre cooked. The potatoes were dry and grey and were definately day olds. The garlic bread is the only thing good and the desserts. Even the salad is lacking in feta cheese. Too much lettuce on the plate and not enough toppings.
My family and I have been visiting Joe Fetas for many years and have never had a bad experience. Delicious food and the service is always good. My nephew loves the Saganaki because they set it on fire at your table. Also good to take out if you dont feel like cooking at home.
Joe's is one of my family favourites! When eating in the restaurant my 9 year old son's must have is the flaming cheese! We love sharing the cheese, dolmades, bifteki's and feta brushetta! Their takeout is also great with a huge selection! They are always quick and tasty! We enjoy so much we drive in from Niagara Falls to get take out!!!
Joe Feta's is one of the good ones. Tasty authentic Greek food for a good price and good portions. Just about anything on the menu will satisfy you. I have eaten there many, many times and have never been let down. They do a nice job in there, nothing overly fancy just good food and good service. Great place for lunch as well.
I'm not greek nor am I an expert on greek food (Joe Feta is actually the only place I've had greek), but I know what tastes good and Joe Feta tastes amazing. I had the Gyro and it was tasty, and it was just as good as a shwarma (one of my fav foods). My order was actually take out so I can't really grade the service and atmosphere, but it looked like a really nice place to eat in.
fantastic food ... you get lots for what you pay ... family run ... always consistent ... quick service and fast take out. Great homemade greek dressing to take home ... WE LOVE JOE FETAS!!!!
Great tasting food for a great price. I haven't dined in for a couple of years but we've had take out. They are very fast and provide good quality. We often forget about this place but it is definitly one of our favourite places for a good and affordable meal. The deserts are very good too.
Good genuine greek food, lots of variety, good portions and friendly staff. My personal favorites are the roast lamb dinner (only available as a special but very tender), the avlolemono (sp?) soup, and the calamari. Good greek coffee too.
I've been to Joe Feta's a handful of times. My boyfriend and I always have the same review every visit. We enjoy the main part of the dish (gyros, soulvaki, etc.), however, we do not enjoy the side dishes. The roasted potatoes are soaked in some toxic looking oil or butter and don't appear to be roasted and the french fries are not that fantastic. The greek salad is okay but we prefer more cucumbers and tomatoes. I guess it is just a personal taste issue. With all that said, the gyros are worth the visit.
We go to Joe Fetas about once a month, and have been going here for many years. The drive from Youngstown NY is worth it, and the flavors of the food are very rich and tasty. The service is always great! For the last person that commented on the "chicken souvlaki"....we know the menu off by heart, and it wasn't the chicken souvlaki that you ordered. It sounds like the chicken gyro wrap. The meat is not processed...it is ground chicken mixed with spices, roasted, and then thinly shaved off of the spool....when you look into the kitchen, you can see them shave it freshly right into your sandwich. The chicken souvlaki is chunks of chicken, the chicken gyro looks like lunch meat, but it's not...it's very much tasty and fresh. My husband is greek and we love gyros and souvlakis....it might be an aquired taste for some, so please do not say that there sandwiches are like processed lunch meat. Shame on you.
parking can be an issue at this restaurant, luckily we got the last space in the lot. kalamari - I was pleasantly surprised to find that the kalamari was delicious! Properly cooked, lightly breaded, on a par with some I've had in high-end restaurants. lamb kabob on a pita - my date ordered this, said it was very good chicken souvlaki on a pita - I ordered this and didn't like the chicken. It's hard to describe the actual meat. It was processed meat, in long slices. Like a thickly sliced lunch meat crossed with chicken bacon. It was very salty, and the texture was suspicious. I ended up removing the wad of meat from my pita and enjoying the rest of the dinner. The potatoes, rice, salad, garlic bread, etc were all great. I'd go again, but I would definately stay away from that souvlaki.
We order take out from here quite a bit, always good food and always great service!
The food here is delicious and interesting as is the atmosphere. The diners are quite varied in age and the restaurant is popular. The Greek salad could use more tomatoes and less lettuce as the traditional Greek salads are prepared. I like this restaurant and would recommend it. Worried about spicy food? Don't be.
Joe Feta's had been recommended to us and we were not disappointed. It is a very cute restaurant with really good service. The wine and food are both excellent. My husband loved the hummus and we both had leftovers from our chicken/gyros plates. Fabulous!
My favourite restaurant in the city, food is amazing and the servings are massive. I usually have enough left overs to feed me the next day. And the saganaki is incredible.
