Consistently good pub fare, excellent and fast service, nice patio.
This restaurant has been in my community as long as I can remember! What impresses me overall is that the first couple of times I ate there, I was not really impressed but the owner has clearly taken feedback from customers and turned this into a Bracebridge gem! This is the only restaurant on the main street with a true patio, and on a warm summer evening, the atmosphere as you sit and enjoy your meal is just sublime...and I have not even started on the food yet! I have eaten fish and chips in many different parts of the world, and they are cooked very well here - the fish is tender and flaky while the crust is not too heavy yet remains crispy, even as the fish sits for a little while. The rest of the menu features Canadian restaurant staples with a twist - the chef blends these dishes with seasonal, local products (i.e. maple syrup, cranberries, etc.) and the results show that standard of care. If you are planning a visit to the Bracebridge area, I would recommend this restaurant - but please do not tell EVERYONE you know - I want to be able to get a table, too!
We were looking for a quick bit to eat while driving thru the town and being vegetarian sometimes the options can be very limited. There menu had a great variety of options for lunch. We ordered the deep fried pickles to start and they were delicious. Our meal consisted of a veggie burger with a side of sweet potato fries which were nice and crispy and a veggie wrap with a side salad. The meals were great and the service was very fast. The food and service was well worth the price.
