Started in Fernie BC in 2001 by owner and mechanic Al Komarevich who wanted to do repairs on domestic and imported automobiles on a small scale. Now in 2014 Backyard Mechanical is a full blown commercial and auto repair shop, and a designated inspection facility. Now staffed with four mechanics we can do it all from domestic to import vehicles to commercial truck and equipment repair, if it swings, crawls on tracks, or rolls on rubber we can repair it! Mr Graf and Riley quite possibly saved my life when I limped in to their shop. Even though they are heavy duty shop they were gracious enough to repair the wheel on my small SUV. I was driving from Nelson to Calgary when my wheel started making noise and eventually shaking. They found that it was about to actually fall off and had one stud shorn off! They could have easily hustled me off to another shop (all in town were extremely busy) but they took the time to help out a traveller in need. Read more
