While musical skills play a big part in creating a great sound, having a clean, professional and lively rehearsal space in which to hone those skills is just as important. Karen and Christopher “Pher” Gautreau learned this first hand through their own experiences trying to find rehearsal spaces for their bands. The difficulty they had finding somewhere suitable was their motivation for creating SoundHouse Studios.
After three months of construction, building the space up from a concrete shell, Pher and Karen were ready to open their doors for business in January 2012. A lot of thought and sweat went into making the studio a great place for musicians to work on their sound.
Initially, the studio offered lockout spaces for rental on a monthly basis. Since then they've expanded their offerings to include hourly rentals, lessons, team building workshops, and event venue spaces, as well as partnering with a recording business, Sound Lounge Productions. Pher and Karen are always tinkering and upgrading the studio and their offering to ensure a positive atmosphere where people can come and focus on their music.
“I feel like it helps musicians when they are playing in a space that inspires them, that is clean and professional. It's going to help them be more professional.” says Karen.
