"One of my favourite quotations is from Benjamin Franklin," says Andy Sahadeo, owner of AM Furniture Finishing. "It goes: 'The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.' I put it on all my marketing materials, emails and quotations."
Andy is passionate about high-quality workmanship. "I guarantee all my work for one year in writing," he says. "When people bring furniture to me to be refinished or repaired, I make sure they understand exactly what I am going to do and the products I will use."
Worried about staining your good furniture with coffee cup rings? Andy uses a high quality lacquer with a hardener to keep your investment safe.
Most of the work that Andy does involves antique furniture restoration. Sometimes the customer is disappointed to find that the piece of furniture that they brought back from China is not the priceless antique they thought it was, but rather a mass-produced item full of plastic and cheap wood.
"I do what I can for them," says Andy. "Sometimes I can paint the piece and refinish it with a glaze to hide the plastic and at least make it look good. I want the client to leave my shop happy."
Andy is a very likable guy who does a great job with re-finishing any type of furniture that you may have. Ive had two jobs that Ive brought to him and I was very satisfied with the work that he did on both of them. He and his wife are very friendly and easy to deal with. Id gladly go back to have any painting or staining done to my furniture should I need to. Good job, Andy. Steve
