Sechelt, located on a narrow isthmus of land between the Strait of Georgia and the inland sea of Sechelt Inlet, is a place of quiet beauty, incredible energy, and a population as diverse as any to be found in Canada. The Sechelt and District Chamber of Commerce was established under the federal Board of Trade Act in 1948 as the Sechelt Peninsula Board of Trade. The early Sechelt Board of Trade covered the area from Wilson Creek to Egmont. By 1972, the organization was known as the Sechelt and District Chamber of Commerce. The Sechelt Chamber is a member of the British Columbia Chamber of Commerce.
