Rod and Marcie Rogers started Rod Rogers Trucking in 1960. Rod drove one truck working in and around the Fort St John area hauling sand and gravel, they soon moved into hauling oilfield equipment and drilling rigs, where Rod earned a solid reputation for hardwork and a job well done. In 1978 they ventured back into the gravel business, purchasing a loader and another truck. The company continued to expand as Rod's reputation for hard work and integrity continued to bring in business. With steady growth in the 1980's, a grader and excavator joined the loaders, dump trucks, winch tractor, lowbeds and hiboys. A major addition to the growing company was the purchase of land in south Taylor with 40 plus acres of gravel reserves. In 1987 plans began to take shape to form a new company, partners would be brought in and a shift of authority would start. In 1988 Rogers Trucking Inc was formed with Rod and Marcie selling 2/3rds of the new company to sons Shane and Curtis. Rod and Marcie would begin to phase out of the day to day operations and take more of a controller position, Shane had his own truck that he drove and provided in the field supervision and consulting.
