Petals On The Trail/Edmonton Wedding Flowers

Angela Klein, owner of Petals and Artisan’s Row, has such a pure love of flowers that she leapt at the chance to own her own flower shop. “My boss came in one day and said he was thinking of selling the shop,” Angela explains. “I said ‘okay I’ll buy it.’ Thirty days later, I didn’t have two nickels to rub together but I was the proud owner of my very own flower shop. I’m a ‘jump in with two feet’ kind of person!”

When Angela took over the shop, she found a new location and started changing how things were done, including changing the name from Petals on the Trail. The new shop, called Petals and Artisan’s Row, was built using mostly recycled materials and all local labour. She started sourcing flowers from local sources whenever possible, as well, because going local is an important part of her business. “Obviously, we can’t supply all of our flowers from around Edmonton, but we buy what we can from around here,” says Angela. “I want to support our local economy because we need to increase our local awareness.”
