This is the third incarnation of the amazingly successful Playa Cabana brand (the original, Playa Cabana, is in the Annex; the second, Playa Cabana Cantina, lights up the Junction), proving Toronto's taste for authentic Mexican vittles endures. The menu at this new Yorkville location features lots of the good stuff from its older siblings, including quesadillas fritas; prawn, fish, chorizo, chicken, veggie, steak, pork and ground beef burritos; and a slew of tasty gluten-free, corn-based taco offerings. But this adaptation extends its all-scratch-made offerings to include more wood-smoked meats than the others. Playa Cabana Hacienda is the largest of the growing chain's physical spaces: three floors, almost 140 seats and two patios.
