The salon experience was good as I was a new customer. I got coffee and a good scalp massage. I went for a junior stylist so I got 10% off my haircut. I think the haircut was ok.
I'm used to paying $60+ for a haircut, but not with such bare bones service. Usually for that price you're offered tea, coffee or sometimes wine, the cut and style take an hour and your hair hair looks perfect styled when you leave the salon. Not so at Madison's. I wasn't offered a drink (neither was my companion who was also getting her hair cut), we were in and out within 30 minutes and my hair looked as though I'd styled it myself. The cut I asked for was basically just a repeat of my previous style (I have long hair, so it was a trim and shape up), so I can't comment much of the cut itself. I have no complaints.)
Madison's needs to understand that people pay $60+ for a haircut not only for the style itself, but for the experience. High end salons with excellent stylists are a dime-a-dozen in Ottawa and I think Madison's is only getting by because there's no competition nearby.
